SRE113 - 08:00

Details

On the route from Reykjavík to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon some of Iceland´s finest natural wonders are to be found and is Skaftafell national park one of the highlights. En route you will be able to see the highest mountain in Iceland, Hvannadalshnjúkur 2110 m.

Jökulsarlón is a glacial lagoon, formed by melting ice from Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. On the way back to Skaftafell it is interesting to look at the landscape beneath the glaciers – the coast is mainly black, volcanic sands and grit. Short boat trip is available around the lagoon, there is ample time before the bus leaves.

The stop by Jökulsárlón is approx. 2 hours.
