Snorkeling is an activity that can be done by everyone that has learned to swim.
Silfra
The Silfra fissure in the National Park Thingvellir is famous for its amazing visibility and underwater landscapes.
About 50 kilometers from the lake Thingvellir lies Iceland's second largest glacier Langjökull. The melting water from the glacier travels for over 30 years through lava fields before it flows into Silfra.
This filtering process makes the Silfra water as clear as water can be. Snorkelers experience a visibility of over 100 meters and can drink the water while swimming in it.
The silfra fissure
The Silfra crack has been created by the tectonical drift of the American and Eurasian continental plates. Snorkelers are literally between the continents.
The Tour
We will pick you up from your hotel in the Reykjavik area and drive with you to Silfra.
Your guide will walk with you to the platform and give you a briefing before gearing up.
Since the water is cold the snorkeling is conducted in dry suits.
These suits will keep you dry and the thermo undergarments we provide will keep you warm and comfortable.
