15 Skaftafell - Jökulsárlón
This day tour departs
Skaftafell twice daily, at 08:30 and 13:00, heading to the magnificent
Jökulsárlón. Return to Skaftafell is at 11:15 and 16:15, giving you two
hours to enjoy the unique Jökulsárlón.
You will catch a view
of Europe's biggest and most impressive glacier Vatnajökull on one side
and black sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.
Jökulsárlón (the Glacier Lagoon) is a glacial river lagoon with huge
blocks of ice that break off the glacier and float on the lagoon,
creating unique surroundings. The lagoon is not very wide but is 200
meters deep, and the ice that floats in the lagoon is over a 1000 years
old.
This bus will operate from 15 June to 31 August, 2010.
Schedule is based on normal road and weather conditions. Pick up is not
available for this tour. This tour is cd-guided.
It
is not necessary to book seats on our scheduled buses. You
just need to show up with your booking confirmation on any date you
wish within the published bus schedule and you will get a seat on the
bus. In case the bus fills up, another bus will arrive to pick up extra
passengers – so there is always availability!
