9/9a - Reykjavík - Thorsmork
A visit to Þórsmörk is a “must” during your stay in Iceland. To get there you pass the fertile farmlands of the South, you take a rugged track and cross some unbridged glacial rivers.
Þórsmörk is a beautiful nature reserve situated between three glaciers. The region has a surprisingly richness of bird life and arctic vegatation, amazing rock formations and surroundings where the Icelandic mythology of elves and trolls comes to life.
This is the right spot to see the aftermaths of the last eruption that took place in Eyjafjallajökull in April 2010 and even some of the ash from the 2011 eruption in Grímsvötn.
