What is your policy on smoking?
Smoking is prohibited on board Reykjavik Excursions coaches.
What kind of coaches do you offer?
Reykjavik Excursions bus fleet is one of the best in Iceland. Our
fleet of modern coaches consists of 80 vehicles, varying from 6 to 70
seats and 4x4 coaches suitable for crossing un-bridged glacier rivers,
hence reaching almost any destination in the highlands. Constant
supervision, maintenance and upkeep ensure the quality of the coaches
and professional drivers enhance the safety of all passengers.
What does the guide do?
Reykjavik Excursions offer guidance in most of the tours.
Guidance is in English. Some tours are additionally guided in German,
French or Scandinavian (maximum 2 languages per tour).
Our tour
guides are professionals with degrees in various languages and/or
subjects relating to Icelandic tourism. Your guide tells you about the
area you are visiting and leads the way throughout the tour. He will
also be able to answer your questions, if you have any. Our aim is to
offer quality tours that feature the different aspects of Iceland's
nature, history, culture and modern living.
What is included in my tour?
All admission to sites, museums or exhibitions visited are included, unless otherwise stated in tour description.
What should I wear?
Sturdy shoes and a warm outdoor wear should be worn when travelling in Iceland during any season.
Nature is the main attraction on many of the excursions and a short outdoor walk may be included to fully enjoy the tour.
Do I need to bring my passport?
You do not need to bring your passport for the day tours. If you are
going snowmobiling you do need to bring a drivers license.
Are the prices fixed?
Tours and services are subject to currency fluctuation and conditions
of cooperative contractors that may provide transportation and other
services.
Liability?
Reykjavik Excursions reserve the right to alter routes,
itineraries or timetables without prior notice, should the necessity
arise.
No liability is accepted for losses or expenses due to
delays or changes of arrival or departure of flights or other services,
injury, sickness, accident, strikes, damage, negligence, weather, war
or other causes outside the control of Reykjavik Excursions.
All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the traveller.
What about overbooking?
All our tours are on Free Sale basis and a confirmation from Reykjavik Excursions is therefore not needed to confirm booking.
If
you want a pick up from your hotel, your booking should contain the
following information: Name of tour requested, tour date, name of
guests, accommodation, date of arrival and departure, arrival time and
flight number, age of children traveling and other services included.
Please book with at least 1 hour notice if you want to be picked up
from you hotel or guesthouse.
When is my pick-up/drop-off?
Pick-up time is 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure times. Please be in front of your hotel or in the lobby for pick-up.
Pick-up
for Day Tours is operated by several smaller coaches throughout the
city centre. Main departure point is the BSI Bus Terminal.
Drop-off
after Day Tours may sometimes not be right in front of your
hotel/guesthouse due to narrow streets and actual coach size used on
the tour. Drop-off time depends on the duration of your tour.
Pick up and drop off is only available for Reykjavik Excursions Day Tours, not other tours.
What languages are spoken on the tours?
Guidance is in English.
Some tours are additionally
guided in German, French or Scandinavian (maximum 2 languages per
tour). Further information and details are listed with each tour.
How much luggage am I allowed to take with me?
You are allowed to take about 2 items of luggage with you for
your tour with Reykjavik Excursions. That is about the same amount
flight carriers allow (around 20-25kg). Normally passengers will not
bring that much luggage for a tour, except tours that have a drop off
at Keflavik International Airport (such as the Flybus and some Blue Lagoon tours).
If you are travelling with more luggage than is estimated you might want to send us a mail to main@re.is
or call our main BSI Bus Terminal office, (+354) 562 1011 in order to
allow for special arrangements, such as the booking of necessary space.
