Thorsmork - Husadalur

Thorsmork is one of Iceland’s most scenic spots, encircled by nature barriers such as mountains, glaciers and un-bridged waters in all directions. Thorsmork is only accessible by specially equipped vehicles and with experienced drivers.
The climate in Thorsmork is unique because it is an oasis surrounded on all sides with glaciers and mountions providing shelter from the breezy south coast. Therefore the wather is quite often better there then in the neighbouring areas. Thorsmork has a diverse flora and magnificent landscapes.
In Husadalur you have several hiking possibilities, one being the famous Laugavegur route (55 km), likning two of Iceland´s well known natural paradises Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork.
Reykjavik Excursions offer daily departures from Reykjavik to Thorsmork during summer time.

Sightseeing in Thorsmork
From Husadalur you can board a bus that takes you to Stakkholtsgjá, Langidalur, Básar and back again. Daily departures at 13:00 returning at 16:00.
