A classic tour with buggy fun

The Golden Circle is a trip everyone should check out when in Iceland, but now you can combine the sightseeing with a fun one-hour buggy tour!

The tour starts at Quad-basecamp which is only 15 minutes away from the city centre. There, a safety briefing and short instructional course will be given on how to operate the buggies safely. The buggy‘s versatility allows us to tear through the off-road trails that lead to the mountain top of Hafrafell giving way to an impressive panoramic view overlooking the buzzing capital area.

The second part of the tour is the ever popular Golden Circle tour. It features three of the most famous sights in Iceland; Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park.

Gullfoss, or Golden Waterfall, is an impressive waterfall created by Hvítá River which tumbles into a 32 m (105 ft.) deep crevice. It is not possible to see the plunge from every angle, so sometimes it looks like the waterfall falls into an abyss.

At Geysir geothermal area, the geyser Strokkur shoots up a column of water some 30 m (98 ft.) every 4-8 minutes. All geysers in the world got their name from the now mostly dormant Geysir, which the area is named after.

Thingvellir National Park is important both geologically and historically. It is the place where the world‘s first parliament, Alþingi, was set in 930, and it is also the place where you can see the Mid-Atlantic ridge above sea level! The Eurasian and American tectonic plates pull apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year.
