Experience the breathtaking scenery, rugged mountains, and beautiful glaciers and a variety of plants and wildlife in Skaftafell National Park.

Within the park lies half of the largest ice cap in Europe, Vatnajökull, and it is surrounded by glaciers on three sides. It offers a view of the volcano Laki and the tallest mountain in Iceland, Hvannadalshnjúkur, standing at 2.110 metres high (6.922 ft).

During the approx. four hours stop in the park you have a number of exciting options to explore, such as walking to the mystical waterfall Svartifoss surrounded by its trademark basalt columns. You could take a guided glacial hike, or simply enjoy walking around the park’s expansive network of trails.
