The Secret Lagoon natural hot springs are located in the small village of Fludir in the Golden Circle area. These hot springs form a lagoon, kept both natural and unique for guests to enjoy that authentic Icelandic feeling. The pool’s natural surroundings and the steam hovering over it gives the place a magical touch. The water temperature stays at a comfortable 38-40°F (100-104°F) all year. There are several geothermal spots in the area and a small geyser that erupts every 5 minutes, a little sideshow for guests relaxing in the hot lagoon. In winter, another sideshow is often provided by the northern lights, although they have a tendency to steal the show. What better way to view this spectacular light show than relaxing in the warm water of a natural pool?
There are several hot spots around the Secret Lagoon. A walking path guides guests around them so they can have a closer look at the boiling, spouting hot springs.
The Secret Lagoon has recently been renovated to provide brand-new facilities next to the hot springs, including separate locker rooms and showers for men and women, a bar and an eating area. Please note that food is not served daily, but snacks and drinks are available for purchase.
