Experience Iceland’s raw nature and dramatic contrasts behind the wheel of a 4x4 buggy. Starting from our Reykjavik base at Lambhagavegur 13, this full-day adventure takes you off the beaten path through gravel tracks, mountain valleys, and glacial rivers.

Your journey begins by Hafravatn and Skammidalur before continuing into the scenic Mosfellsdalur valley, where we take a short break near Hraðastaðir. From there, the route follows the Leirvogsá salmon river toward Mosfellsheiði, with stunning views over Stardalur and Sauðafellsflói. Along the way, you’ll drive across volcanic landscapes and between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates—an unforgettable Icelandic experience.

Þingvellir National Park

Our first major stop is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Iceland’s most important historical locations. It was here that the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi, was founded in 930 AD. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and Iceland’s largest natural lake, Þingvallavatn, Þingvellir is where Iceland’s geological and cultural heritage meet.

Gullfoss Waterfall

Next, we continue toward the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most powerful natural wonders. Fed by glacial waters from Langjökull, the “Golden Waterfall” plunges in two tiers into a deep canyon, often framed by a rainbow on sunny days. Standing beside the thundering Hvítá river is an awe-inspiring reminder of Iceland’s untamed beauty.

Geysir Hot Spring Area

The final highlight of the day is the Geysir geothermal field in Haukadalur valley. Here, you’ll witness Strokkur erupting every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 35 meters into the air. The area is also home to smaller geysers and bubbling hot springs—a true showcase of Iceland’s geothermal power.

After exploring the geothermal valley, we’ll return via Lyngdalsheiði and Gjábakki, tracing back through Iceland’s wild landscapes toward Reykjavik.
