The Sólheimajökull glacier tongue extends from the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier, down to the sandy plains of the Icelandic south coast.

No prior technical skills are required for this glacier tour. An experienced glacier guide will instruct you on using essential glacier equipment, including crampons and an ice axe, all provided for every Glacier Walk tour. This hike is considered moderate in difficulty, suitable for travellers with a reasonable fitness level.

Because of changes in landscape at Sólheimajökull glacier we have combined the old Blue ice Adventure and Sólheimajökull Exploration into the Sólheimajökull Glacier Walk. These changes in landscape involve about 30-40 min walk from the parking lot to the glacier itself.
