Who we are
Reykjavik Excursions is one of Iceland’s leading tour and transport operators, with a history spanning more than five decades. Founded in 1968, the company has grown into a trusted provider of high-quality tours, scheduled transport, and travel services for visitors to Iceland.
We operate one of the largest and most modern coach fleets in the country and are a fully licensed tour operator and travel agent. Our services range from airport transfers and sightseeing tours to tailored travel solutions for individuals and groups.
A long-standing Icelandic company
Originally founded as Kynnisferðir, Reykjavik Excursions has been part of Iceland’s tourism development since its early days. Over the years, we have continuously invested in vehicles, people, and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and enjoyable travel experiences in Iceland’s often challenging conditions.
Today, Reykjavik Excursions serves thousands of travellers each year, with operations based at BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport.
Part of Icelandia
In 2022, Reykjavik Excursions became part of Icelandia, a collective of well-established Icelandic travel companies that includes Icelandic Mountain Guides, Gray Line Iceland, Dive.is, and Flybus.
Together, the Icelandia brands offer a wide range of authentic travel experiences across Iceland — from scheduled transport and sightseeing tours to specialised adventure activities on land and at sea. Our Fleet
Reykjavik Excursions operates one of the largest and newest coach fleets in Iceland, with vehicles of various sizes suited to different routes and group types.
Our coaches are designed for comfort and reliability, and selected vehicles are equipped with free Wi-Fi and USB charging ports, allowing guests to stay connected while travelling.

Reykjavik Excursions was the first Icelandic tour operator to receive ISO 14001 certification for Environmental Management from the British Standards Institution (BSI). We also hold Vakinn certification for both quality and environmental management — Icelandic tourism’s official quality and sustainability system.
In addition, we are Iceland’s only company with membership in the Global Passenger Network, an international association promoting the highest standards in coach operations worldwide.
In line with this commitment, Reykjavik Excursions continues to invest in more sustainable and inclusive transport solutions. Our fleet includes modern electric buses, helping to reduce emissions and noise in and around Reykjavík, while supporting a cleaner travel experience for both visitors and local communities. We also work continuously to improve accessibility across our services, with selected vehicles designed to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility, ensuring that more travellers can experience Iceland safely and comfortably.

Flybus Airport Transfers
Since 1979, Reykjavik Excursions has operated Flybus, the main scheduled bus service between Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport (KEF). With departures coordinated with every arriving and departing flight, Flybus provides reliable, year-round airport transfers and remains an essential service for visitors travelling to and from Iceland's capital.
