Two-Day Small Group Experience along the South Coast & Jökulsárlón, including an ice cave visit.

Lace up your hiking boots and join us on this two-day trip for close encounters with the wonders of Icelandic nature. Explore the South Coast with its iconic waterfalls and black sand beaches, and be the first to step into a blue ice cave of Europe’s largest icecap. To top it all off, we’ll have ample moments to hunt the magical, ever-elusive Northern Lights!

You will be picked up from your selected pick up location at the time stated on your voucher, please note that it can take up to 30 minutes to be picked up.

Day 1: Experience the drive down route 1 that will lead us to the famous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Next is coastal village of Vík where you will find Reynisfjara, the black sand beach.

As the day rolls by, we’ll head deeper into the countryside to our accommodation in Skaftafell, where we can enjoy a relaxing evening and recharge for the coming day. If the weather allows, we will top off our day witnessing Iceland's quintessential natural phenomenon: the Northern Lights.

Day 2: We will have an early start and head towards Jökulsarlón Glacial Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Next we head to an Ice Cave where our certified guides will assure a safe and exciting experience. Ice Caves are only found during the wintertime when the glacial rivers retract and the water freezes.

Please note! Your safety is our priority and sometimes weather or road conditions mean that access to certain ice caves is unavailable and/or unsafe. Our main ice cave in the winter is the Crystal Ice Cave. However, at times when it’s inaccessible, we’ll visit an alternative ice cave. During the summer months (from April to October), we’ll visit the Ice Cave Under the Volcano. If it’s inaccessible, we’ll do a glacier hike instead.

We reserve the right to alter itineraries and/or timetables should it be necessary, due to adverse weather and or other related conditions.

"Highly recommended!"

With limited time to explore Iceland, we took the two day trip to the south coast with arctic adventures. We. Lucked. Out. The weather was fantastic and we had Hjalti as our guide. We highly recommend the tour and we suggest, if you can, requesting Hjalti. He was knowledgeable, adventurous and made us all feel at home in Iceland!

The spots you will visit with this tour are less touristy than the famous Golden Circle and you will be able to experience many different landscapes (waterfalls, beaches, glacier and ice cave). You’d definitely need more days to discover the whole island. However, if you’re looking to discover Iceland in a short time, this is your tour!

"Breathtaking Tour!"

We had the pleasure of taking this trip with Didi in mid-to-late March 2019. It was indescribable! Obviously, the weather will be different at different times of year, but we had some really breathtaking views and the notoriously volatile Icelandic weather behaved itself enough for us to enjoy. Arctic Adventures does a superb job of giving you time at each site to enjoy yourself, take it in, and take plenty of pictures (and it's very difficult to take a bad picture in Iceland). Didi was very entertaining and kept us engaged throughout the trip. And every single one of the sites with blow you away.

Also, the accommodation provided was just fine. Don't expect a massive hotel room, but it was sufficient and smack in the middle of one breathtaking location. Plus, the dinner was excellent and you get to spend some time relaxing with the rest of the group and your guide while at dinner. I highly recommend this tour company and this tour if you have the time in Iceland. You won't regret it!
