FlyOver Iceland

An Attraction of Attractions

14. febrúar 2020

One of Reykjavik‘s most recent attractions is FlyOver Iceland. Little by little, word has gotten out among seasoned citizens of Reykjavik that this new destination in the city is a brand-new type of entertainment. And so, for Christmas 2019, everyone in Iceland and their grandmothers, got gifted vouchers to FlyOver Iceland.

An Attraction of Attractions

There’s a reason this attraction became a hit among newcomers and Icelanders alike. The FlyOver experience utilizes state-of-the-art technology to fly visitors over Iceland’s numerous, magnificent landscapes. This includes a huge spherical screen, motion seating and wind and scent effects. The result is immersive and mind blowing and obviously highly recommended.

A New Perspective

While the average Icelander has seen the country’s main attractions more often than they can count, and have an intricate knowledge of its awesome landscapes, FlyOver Iceland offers a completely different experience. No matter how often you’ve seen Dyrhólaey for example and marvelled at it from afar, no one has actually flown through the opening of the rock façade at high speed with their legs dangling down, almost touching the surface of the water. Hardened locals gasp for air as they drop down picturesque narrow valleys from a glorious glacier.

And while this experience will never replace the experience of witnessing natural wonders in person, it adds an entirely new perspective to the adventure that is Iceland in a fun and exhilarating way.
